At NKRH we rescue the tiniest abandoned and orphaned kittens. We desex, worm and flea treat, vaccinate and adopt them to loving homes with indoor lives. But, their parents are sometimes still out there. Kittens can get pregnant from 4 months of age and 63 days later give birth. Those kittens given away free or off gumtree who are undesexed, sadly experience the shock and fear of coming into labour and delivering kittens when they are still kittens themselves.

Our commonest intakes are abandoned newborns from just this scenario. Desexing kittens prevents needless suffering.
The more we do this work the more we discover urban cat colonies that are often in poor shape. ECO Cats is a project aimed at reducing problem behaviours and animal suffering and disease in urban cat populations by desexing.
